Shaping the future of undeclared work.
The
association
About us
The ALTN is a non-profit association, whose mission is to fight against undeclared work in the domestic economy and to offer better working conditions to the staff of this economy.
There is still a whole section of the economy in Switzerland that is plagued by undeclared work. This is particularly the case in the domestic economy, which is still too affected by this scourge. Indeed, 80% of the domestic cleaning market remains undeclared at present.
Undeclared work places puts many people in precarious situations (unpaid holidays, no pension contributions, no compensation in the event of illness or accidents). Because employees are not registered with the social partners, social security contributions are not declared, and many are not insured in case of accidents.
Moreover, this places employers in an illegal situation and exposes them to criminal convictions. For even if it is common to think that illegal work is not governed by any contract, this is quite different from a legal point of view. Since it is indeed a hidden employment contract. It is obvious that there is a link of subordination and framework conditions. So, it would be difficult for the employer, in the event of an inspection or an accident, not to be recognized as such, with all the financial and legal consequences that would entail.
It is time to take concrete action to combat this phenomenon and allow all these private employers to legalize their labor relations with their employees.
The solutions we bring to private employers
First, through the association, you have the possibility to insure your domestic employees, through our accident insurance. To do so, simply fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page.
By subscribing to our accident insurance, you will avoid having to pay the minimum premium provided for in each insurance and you will benefit from a competitive hourly insurance policy already negotiated for you.
You also have the possibility of delegating the fiduciary part of your employer-employee relationship to one of our partners. If you are interested, please contact us and we will provide you with their contact details.
The solutions we provide for home economics personnel
The association, through partnerships, will offer training for home economics employees to enable them to claim better salaries and working conditions.
In addition, the association will provide administrative support to ensure that this population has access to administrative and fiscal information.
The association's projects
The association will launch a referendum in 2021, in order to exempt hours of personal services from taxation. The aim of this measure is obviously to combat undeclared work by having a tax incentive to declare households. This will offer better protection to the staff concerned, will have a positive impact for employers, as well as for the state since the declared wage bill will be much higher than before. It is therefore a measure that can be of triple benefit, having already proved its effectiveness, particularly in the Scandinavian countries.
